Knowledge:
Student knows the environmental, technical and social basis for storage reservoirs design and operation. Knows the methods of determination a reservoir parameters and reservoir impact on the environment. Knows basic principles of water management in reservoir, understand the main principles of planning and management of water resources in case of flood risk. Identifies sources of water eutrophication in reservoir.
Skills:
Can elaborate the basis of design of storage reservoir. Can choose and apply an appropriate method of construction a hypothetical flood wave hydrograph. Can use an appropriate method of flood routing through reservoir. Can describe a problem in the field of water management in reservoir.
Competences:
Understands the importance of water for social and economic development; is aware of the responsibility for the economical and rational management of water resources; understands the non-economic importance of water for society; feels the need to deepen knowledge in the field of own specialization.Prerequisites:
meteorology, hydrology, hydraulics, law.
