Knowledge - Student:
knows basic research methods and technics appropriate for defining recommendations for open space in residential areas designing taking into account various situational conditions; knows basic rules of open residential space shaping; knows selected laws, regulations and standards for designing of various objects; has basic knowledge referring to modern views of designing and rehabilitation of residential areas
Skills - Student:
applies methodical approach for residential area arrangement using basic methods adequate for design challenges; analyses situational conditions of designing spaces in housing estate taking into account various influence dimensions; defines, on the basis of conclusions resulting from analysis, design recommendations; defines types of residential areas users, their needs, behaviors and desires; uses basic rules of residential space designing with special regard to functional and territorial aspects; drafts project documentation on the level of conception and presents it using technical drawings and description forms; obtains information adequate for design challenges from various sources

Rules of urban open space design with special regard to housing estates. Notions of community, semi-public and public space. Residents – their needs and desires. Rules of studies and analysis in regard to residential areas. Territory analysis. Rules of participation design. Design rules for public spaces in residential areas. Law conditions. Rules of drafting project documentation at the level of conception.
