Knowledge
- have a theoretical knowledge about evolutionary processes in biology, classical and evolutionary taxonomy [BI2_W08_TP];
- analyze phylogenetic trees, understands models and algorithms for their construction [BI2_W08_TP];
- understand the differences in classical and molecular approach to phylogeny [BI2_W08_TP].
Skills
- is able to prepare a dataset for phylogenetic analysis [BI2_U03, BI2_U04, BI2_U05, BI2_U08_TP, BI2_U11_BP];
- can perform phylogenetic analysis resulting in the creation of a tree with several methods and correctly interpret the results [BI2_U03, BI2_U04, BI2_U05, BI2_U08_TP, BI2_U11_BP];
- can verify the obtained trees and is able to test the significance of the resulting topology and estimate genetic distances between clades on the tree [BI2_U03, BI2_U04, BI2_U05, BI2_U08_TP, BI2_U11_BP].
