Knowledge
Student knows the principles of construction and installation of gas networks taking into consideration technical, environmental and economic factors; knows the rules of operation and assessment of technical condition of devices, installation and gas networks; knows basic rules of design of installation and gas networks.
Skills
Student is able to determine conditions of safe use of devices, installations and gas networks; is able to point out the principles of technical inspections of installation and gas devices, perform the simple project of gas installation.
Competences:
Students understands the importance of proper construction and operation of devices, installation and gas networks for operation and the health and life of population safety.Prerequisites:

Types of flammable gases. The properties of gases and quality requirements. Exploitation of deposits of natural gas. Natural gases desulphurization processes. Processes of nitrogen and mercury removal, drying of gas. Odorisation of natural gases. Storage of natural gases – underground and aboveground tanks. Pipeline transportation of natural gases. Types of gas pipelines and their construction. Calculation of gas networks – regulations and requirements. Materials for the construction of gas pipelines. PE pipelines welding, evaluation of connections quality. Methods of pipelines marking. Gas connections and their construction. Gas installations in residual buildings – the rules and principles of construction. Design, construction and operation of gas boilers. LPG installations. Rules of safe exploitation of LPG distributed in gas cylinders. Control of installation and gas devices condition in buildings. Control of technical efficiency of gas exhaust discharge from gas devices; control of ventilation of rooms where gas devices are installed; Conditions for the formation of explosive mixtures. Explosive initiation. The explosion and its parameters. Evaluation of the risk of explosion. The hazard zones. Health and safety in the construction and operation of the network and gas devices.
