Language of instruction: Polish

Learning outcomes: Students have a theoretical and practical knowledge in integrated crop production. They are familiar with principles of Kodeks Dobrej Praktyki Rolniczej and the proposals for Kodeks Integrowanej Ochrony Roślin. They have knowledge in taxonomy, plant development and crop management according to the principles of integrated crop production. Students are familiar with terminology within crop production. They can describe plant growth stages in their vegetation period. Students have competence in adequate crop management techniques. Students have skills in selecting adequate cultivars of crops according to different environmental and economic conditions. Students recognize crop species in various growth stages. They are able to plan cultivation practices, to calculate doses of chemicals needed and optimize technology use. Students have skills to select appropriate fertilizers and products of weed and pest control for a given crop species with respect to its nutrient requirements and pest infestation.

Competences: Students understand the constant need for training within and gaining more competence in integrated crop production. They are able to evaluate the effect of the crop management and the environmental conditions on yield quality and quantity of a given crop species. Students understand the necessity of integrated crop production within a defined legal framework. They follow safety regulations in plant production. They are responsible for workers who conduct crop management practices and for the handed equipment.

Prerequisites: Botanics, Plant physiology, Plant nutrition
