K1 – characterizes structural elements of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells[BC1_W06].
K2 – knows the theory explaining the origin of eukaryotic cells and the theories explaining the origin of life on Earth [BC1_W13].

K4 – knows the histology of human organs. [BC1_W07].
Skills
Student:
S1 – uses a light microscope and an inverted light microscope [BC1_U12].
S2 – is able to recognize and describe the main functions of the cell organelles [BC1_U01]. S3 – is able to identify the type of animal tissue [BC1_U01].
S4 – is able to present and discuss the histology of selected tissues in the form of a multimedia presentation [BC1_U18].Competences:

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with contemporary knowledge of the cytology with particular emphasis on the construction of eukaryotic cells and their cytophysiology. Students will become familiar with the issues of modern cell biology, such as stem cells, neoplastic processes and molecular mechanisms of intercellular interactions, including shedding of microvesicles and exosomes. Another objective is to provide students with current knowledge of the general and detailed histology (organ) with regard to the medical aspectsRecommended literature:

Exam will be performed as a test consisting form 50 closed questions.
Practicals assesment:
In order to pass the exam student must answer correctly on 30 questions (60% correct answers).
Required conditions: (i) high attendance at practical classes; (ii) positive marks from all tests.
Attendance at practical classes:laboratory classes include a series of eleven exercises (2 hours each). Attendance is obligatory. A student may have one absence, provided that it will be excuse by relevant documents.
Each colloquium will consist of two parts:
(1) Evaluation of practical skills: designed to check whether student is able to recognize the preparations presenting main structural elements of the cell (nucleus, mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum) and histological [All preparations described and discussed at classes previously].
(2) Theoretical test: a test consisting of 30 closed questions.
The first test will include issues presented at classes no 1-4, while the second no 5-10. At last classes student will present multimedia concerning histological structure of the skin, hairs, nails., glands and muscles of skin.
Final note will be an average calculated from all notes obtained during laboratory.Comment:
