Knowledge: Has an outline understanding about a piece of Polish cultural heritage – the Polish folklore. As a result of practical learning of folk dances and singing learned basic steps of national dances (Polonez, Mazur, Krakowiak) and regional dances (Opolsko-raciborskie, Cieszyńskie, Zagłębie Dąbrowskie, Beskid, Śląski, Żywiecki). Has a knowledge of proper voice production – body and breath relaxation. Recognizes basic national and regional costumes.
Skills: Is able to demonstrate the stage posture needed in order to perform and show national dances on the stage at the appropriate level. Has the ability to demonstrate the basic elements of national and regional dances. Is able to link proper pieces of national dance and perform a part of it with other course participants. Has learned to cooperate and work as a team to create a social bond between the dancers. Is able to use voice correctly.Competences:
Social competence: Is able to work with a group, understands the need to work as a team to facilitate the required outcome which is to create a social activity, with appropriate sensitivity, an openness to others and understanding of the responsibility of the task (the performance of the whole group depends on each individual playing their part). Has an understanding of value of national cultural heritage.Prerequisites:
Unlimited physical movement abilities. Average motor coordination.Course content:
Role and function of a dance. Developing skill of movement and music connection. Rules of rhythmical exercises and music elements. Rhythmical-psychical exercises. Basic exercises and techniques of the classical dances. Polish national dances: origins and history of polonez and krakowiak. Steps and figures training. Basic elements of national dances. Regional dances – history, characteristics: opole-racibórz dances,Cieszyńskie, Zagłębie Dąbrowskie, Beskid Śląski,Żywiecki. Basic steps and figures of regional dances. Performing dance routines.
