Knowledge: He knows and describes changes and the reasons for uneven inflow of wastewater to the wastewater treatment plant as well as wastewater characteristics. He knows the rules and requirements for treated wastewater. He knows the basic methods of treatment of small amount of household and industrial sewage. He knows the newest methods and principles for treatment of sewage from individual households. He knows the consequences of the introduction of polluted water to surface waters.
Abilities: Ability to select the correct method for treatment of sewage from individual households. Ability to present information obtained from literature and other sources and to critically evaluate the applied methods and technical solutions used for treatment of small amounts of household sewage.Competences:
Social competences: He understands the need to study literature on the newest methods of treatment of small amounts of sewage deeply and thoroughly. He is aware of the individual and social responsibility for the results of discharging polluted water (sewage) to still and running waters. Prerequisites:

Course contents: legal regulations on wastewater treatment, conventional methods of treatment of small amounts of sewage, highly efficient methods of nitrogen and phosphorus removal from wastewater, newest methods of treatment of small amounts of sewage, sediment management.Recommended literature:

Knowledge: tests during classes, project task, written exam. Abilities: ability to complete specific project tasks during tests, project of wastewater treatment plant, oral presentation of the prepared design.
Social competences: assessment of the results of individual and team work, evaluation of the correctness of the selection of arguments with reference to basic principles of environmental protection. Comment:
