After completing the course student is familiar with main groups of compounds of the plant origin and their biological properties. He knows also insecticides, which derive from the compounds present in the plants and showing the activity towards the insects.Competences:
Student completing the course can differentiate environmentally safe pesticides from the harmful ones.Prerequisites:
Organic Chemistry, BiochemistryCourse content:
Biologically active compounds of plant origin: alkaloids, amino acids, peptides, lactones.
The insecticides from plants: carbamates, antijuvenile agents, pyrethroids and antifeedants.. The influence of configuration of chiral centers in the molecule on the biological activity of the compound.
