Learning outcomes: Knowledge: After completing the course the student knows the basic definitions and theorems for solving linear equations using matrix theory, knows basic methods of calculus and knows how to use them in the investigation of functions. Skills: The student is able to perform basic operations with matrices, knows how to apply the acquired theories to solve linear equations. The student is able to calculate the derivatives of functions and to investigate a function. He knows how to apply these issues in practical examples of optimization.

Competences: The student follows the rules of ethics and the principles of cooperation established at the beginning of the semester. The student is willing to cooperate and is open to new content presented in the classroom, his active attitude is a model for others. The student is aware of the necessity of precision in problems formulation and has the ability to select the appropriate computational techniques to solve the problem. The student takes care that the form of his work was clear and aesthetic.

Prerequisites: Mathematics course at high school.
