PolishLearning outcomes:
Knowledge: The student knows structure and the properties of basic engineering materials and principle of rational their choice to the specific use - he has general knowledge about the methods to formation of their properties and gets to know the methods of determine the parameters value that describing these properties. The student knows also typical mechanisms of abrasive loss and decohesion and factors influencing on these mechanisms and gets to know the basic ways of the formation of products.
Skills: The student be able to analyze the microstructure of the typical species of steel, cast irons, the alloys of copper and aluminum, he also is able to recognize their modifications. He also is able to determine the basic strength parameters of tested materials and to qualify their usefulness to utilization in the technique on this basis.
Competences:
The student possesses the consciousness of influence the processes of formation quality of the internal structure of products (their structure and condition of the top layer) on safety and reliability of exploited devices. He is understood, that more and more wide use of new materials and production technologies needs systematic additional schooling Prerequisites:
