Learning outcomes: Knowledge The student after completion of the course: knows the purpose of warehouse facilities in the logistic chain; understands the principles of organization of warehouse processes in general and special storage facilities (related to farming); knows the systematics and characteristics of the storage buildings and their construction, utilities installation and technical equipment; knows the general and specific requirements for locating greenhouse facilities, basic farming methods and the types of functional systems; knows structural construction, construction elements and building materials used in greenhouse engineering; knows basic power consumption plans and methods of shaping the microclimate conditions in greenhouse facilities. Skills The student after completion of the course: is able to design a functional system of a storage facility located in the logistic system; can design a functional system of a storage facility in accordance to its function in the economy; can select appropriate equipment used in technological warehousing process; can use knowledge from other courses to design a structural layout of a warehouse; is able to adjust the interior of a greenhouse facility in accordance with selected farming method; can design a structural layout of a greenhouse in accordance with the given spatial form.

Competences: The student demonstrates an understanding of the importance of storage facilities in the flow of durable goods in the national economy; is able to develop additional abilities on the basis of acquired knowledge on the technology of storage processes and warehouse structural systems.

Prerequisites: general construction, concrete structures, metal structures, agricultural production, foundation engineering, spatial planning.

Course content: Warehouses – division and functions, the organization of warehouse processes. Loading units, storage equipment, storage methods of warehouse stock. Storage methods and conditions, usable area arrangement of warehouses for mineral fertilizers and crop protection chemicals. Storage conditions of grain and seeds, method and equipment for their forming, types of warehouse facilities. Production programmes and the types of functional systems of the greenhouse facilities.
