After completing the course students will know: effect of centrifugal pumps and positive displacement, centrifugal pump is able to characterize and understand the adjusting pump performance; knows the rules of cooperation hydraulic pumps, knows the economic aspects of the pumping action, and know the typical pumping systems.
After finishing course the student is able to: determine the hydraulic pumps collaboration, knows how to design the technological pumping station at a specified flow rate and head, is able to determine the economic aspect pumping operations, and know the typical pumping systems, is able to pumping systems economically operate.
Competences:
After completing the course students will understand the importance of technical devices in the management of water, understands the need for pumping in the development of civilization.Prerequisites:
fluid mechanics, general construction, hydrology
Course content:
The use of pumps in hydraulic engineering. The principal activity of the characteristics of the pump. Cavitation. Positive displacement pumps: operating principles, classification, structure. Centrifugal pumps: operating principles, classification, structure. The characteristics of centrifugal pumps, centrifugal pumps, capacity control and propeller. Hydraulic pumps cooperation. Hydraulic pump collaboration. Cooperation pumps and tanks. Engineering Principle pump (pump system, connections). Design of suction. Design of discharge at pumping stations and pumping stations. Pump units operating economy. Control, measurement and automation in the pump. Typical solutions pumping systems for water supply, irrigation and drainage, sediment transport and water.
