Knowledge: Student: W1 - knows and characterises the breed of pigs keeping in Poland and throughout the world
W2 - knows the reproductive, fattening and slaughter parameters and knows the principles of pigs feeding
W3 - has a general knowledge of technical equipment in pig production and knows the technology of pig production
W4 - is aware of the organizational structure of pig breeding in Poland
Skills: Student: U1 - demonstrate the ability to analyze each stage of breeding with regard to critical elements
U2 - is able to develop projects in the field of pig production taking into account the structure of the breeding organization in Poland Competences:
Student: K1 - understand the effects of market phenomena surrounded by entities involved in the production of pig
K2 - is aware of the responsibility for the tasks commonly performed in the team Prerequisites:
Before the start of the course, students should know the basics of general farming, animal genetics and physiology of pigs.Course content:
The course will present the factors affecting production of pigs. Students will familiar with the systems of pig production, will learn about their maintenance systems and the method of feeding various technological groups. Listeners will familiar with the economics of pig production and elements that affect the rational and cost-effective rearing of piglets, weaners and finishers. On the course will presented the latest trends in pig breeding and its impact on the commodity production.Recommended literature:

During exercises will be verified skills: U1, U2 and competences: K1, K2, on the basis of the individual project involving a range of parameters relate to pig production with breeding elements. The basis to pass U1, U2 and K1, K2, will be performing of the project, in which will be included 75% of the parameters discussed at the exercises.
The basis for complete the course is a pass of exercises. Knowledge (W1, W2, W3, W4) will be verified at lectures, on the basis of the exam consists of 5 problem questions. The duration of the exam is 60 minutes. To pass an exam the student must correctly answer at least three questions. Persons who did not pass an exam at the first time, will proceed to the exam in the second term in the same form.Comment:
