Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student - W 1- has general knowledge of conformation and physiology of various species of small ruminants (sheep, goats, lamas, alpacas, fallow deer) W2 - has general knowledge concerning small ruminants production W3 - knows basic technologies in small ruminants production W4 - has the basic knowledge in the range of manufacturing and obtaining of small ruminants origin products - sheep, goats, lamas, alpacas, fallow deer (milk, meat, wool, skin) Skills: Student - U1 - knows the rules and is able to analyze biological processes accompanying small ruminants breeding U2 - knows the rules and is able to conduct rearing of lambs, goats, lamas, alpacas and fellow deer U3 - has an ability of elaboration in Polish language of multimedia presentation concerning reproduction of small ruminants and other issues connected to production of this group of animals.

Competences: Student - K1- is able to treat animals in a responsible manner K2 - is able to lead production of sheep, goats, lamas, alpacas, fallow deer in a responsible manner, being aware of proper environment conditions

Prerequisites: Biochemistry, animal anatomy and physiology, genetic, basis of animal feeding.

Course content: Conformation and performance characteristics of sheep, goats, lamas, alpacas, fallow deer. Rules of breeding work conducting. Genetic and environmental factors influencing the level of production of sheeps, goats, lamas, alpacas, fallow deers. Technological and environmental conditions of animals maintenance. Methods of an assessment of wool from various small ruminants species. Designing in a range of sheep, goats, lamas, alpacas, fallow deer breeding and husbandry.

Assessment methods: Practicals completion: Knowledge (W2, W4), skills (U1, U2, U3) and competencies (K1, K2) will be verified during practicals based on 2 written tests in descriptive form (graded), and based on current progress and activity (oral statements and tasks). Konwledge (W2) and skills (U2, U3) will be also evaluated based on individually prepared projet and multimedia presentation. The presence on practicals is obligatory (only one unjustified absence is allowed during the whole semester). In case of unjustified absence, student is obliged to pass suitable part of material during consultations. Practicals are completed based on average grade from written tests and project. Course completion: Students who have practicals completed are obliged to undertake written exami durin the exam session. Knowledge (W1, W2, W3, W4) will be verified based on an exam lasting 60 minutes (20 test questions and 2 open questions). When the exam is not passed in the first term, student has the right to pass it again in oral or written form in the second term. The grading scale is as follows: 60-70% - satisfactory, 71-76% satisfactory plus, 77-85% - good, 86-90% - good plus, 91-100% - very good.
