Knowledge: student knows the biological processes that determine horse behavioral patterns; student has in-depth knowledge of the functioning of the sensory organs of horses; student knows how to deal with horses for the better results of their use.
Skills: student canindependently carry out behavioral assessment of the animal; student is able to determine the impact of the environment on the behavior of horses and the presence of stereotypes; student has the ability to identify errors in the rearing and development of foals.Competences:
Student is aware of the ethics of professions in the equitation; student is aware of the responsibility for the safety of people working with horses; student is aware of the need to raise awareness in the field of communication with horses.Prerequisites:
Basis of breeding and use of horseCourse content:
Terms of horses servive in the environment, horses sensory function, the behavior of horses in the stables and pasture, behavior play and learning, methods of communication with horses, naturalhorsemanship, stereotypies in horses. Rules of European Union on keeping, use and welfare of horse.Recommended literature:

The basis of completion of exercises course is preparing a computer presentation verifying competence (K1, K2) and containing 50% of the knowledge gained during the classes and 50% of the knowledge resulting from the student's own work. The student is required to demonstrate skills (U1, U2) during field studies. Based on the observation of a horse, a student is able to interpret its behavior by analyzing the welfare conditions. Student's attendance is obligatory at the exercise classes and the field studies. A student is allowed to skip two lessons but he/she must accomplish these in the form of verbal report. Students must obtain grades before the end of the exam session. This is a condition to be entitled to take the exam.
The basis of completion of the course is a written exam. Knowledge (W1, W2) is verified on the basis of four problem questions. Three of the questions must be answered correctly. The duration of the exam is 45 min. If a student fails the exam, he/she is entitled to retake it.The second try must take place in the period covering the exam session.Comment:
