Knowledge:
After completing the course student will explain the relationships between ecology and environment protection, sources of environment contamination as well as will describe their influence on human, animals, plants health and food safety. Student will also mention the threats connected with inappropriate waste management and advantages of pure technologies.
Skills:
After completing the course student will know how to find, evaluate, elaborate and present the materials concerning the sources of environment contamination and their influence on the human’s health, environment condition and food safety. Student will evaluate the influence of mismanagement of food industry wastes on the environment.

Social skills (attitudes):
Student understands the necessity of ecology and environment protection essentials and is aware of huge human responsibility for environment protection. He is eager to care for its future and is aware that it depends on the posterity’s future.
Prerequisites:
chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, major technologies, waste-water disposal Course content:
Bases of ecology and environmental protection. Human’s environment. Natural resources. Atmosphere protection including: atmosphere dangers, dust and gaseous pollution and ways of its rendering. Water protection. Influence of water contamination on the food quality. Sources of soil pollution. Influence of soil contamination on the food quality and human’s health. Methods of soil protection, reclamation. Wastes disposal. Environment hazard connecting with wastes storages. Sources of radioactive contaminations and their influence on human’s health. Methods of prevention the radioactive food contamination. Recommended literature:
