Learning outcomes: knowledge: the student has knowledge of statistics sufficient for mathematical description of processes ocurring in the field of renewal energy and waste management (R2OŹWE_W01) skills: he/she can use statistical methods while solving engineering problems (R2OŹWE_U03)

Prerequisites: Knowledge of the basic notions of calulus such as derivative or integral
Course content: Graphical data display and descriptive statistics. Basic notions of probability theory: random event, random variable. Parameter estimation. Hypothesis testing. Pair of random variables – linear regression.

Assessment methods: Tutorials: Two written tests; two assignment papers. The students will receive points for the tests, the assignments and for the properly solved problems „at the blackboard”. The final grade will be based on the sum of the obtained points. Exam: written test.
