Polish / EnglishThe course in English will be available if a minimum of 6 students sign up for a group. If less than 6 students sign up for the group, the course will be available in Polish with the possibility of individual support in English. Learning outcomes:
The student knows the basic concepts of cartography and spatial information systems.
Student got knowledge about spatial data analysis tool and GIS tools for data visualization.
Skills
Student got knowledge about spatial data models, can apply basic spatial data analysis tools. Student can design thematic map in GIS System.

Student is aware of the role and usability of tools for analysis of vector data in studies of spatial planning and management.Prerequisites:

GIS systems. GIS data structures. Databases and SQL basics. Vactor data analysis. Spatial Data infrastructure in Poland. Analysis of spatial data form many different sources. Visualisation techniques. Thematic maps, cartographic presentation techniques. GIS software in cartography.
GIS systems and GIS data structures. SQL and databases. GIS data models, vector data analysis. Spatial data sources in Poland (BDOT10k and other). Spatial Data infrastructure in Poland . Spatial data classification in various scales. Spatial data aggregation, spatial data statistics – spatial patterns. Qualitative and quantitative spatial data and its visualization. GIS mmodules for thematic mapping design. Cartographic thematic data from Plish Main Office of Geodesy and Cartography.
