Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student: explains the ways of plant’s and animal’s adaptation to the environment in their evolutional process; knows and explains the ecological strategy of animal’s behavior; understands the evolutional mechanisms of defense (arms race) and interaction between organisms in nature; explains evolutional rules of functionality of ecosystem and conditioning of biodiversity. Knows the meanings of the words of evolutional and behavioral ecology. Skills: Student: interprets and discusses the results and enunciates scientific hypothesis and conclusions of evolutional ecology; analyses and explains interactions between organisms and environment on the morphological and behavioral levels; can analyze ecological and behavioral information, which helps in solving general biological problems.

Competences: Student:shows the understanding of ecological and evolutional phenomenon in nature and updates knowledge of this topic systematically; is aware of active cooperation with organizations, which protects biodiversity.

Prerequisites: -

Course content: Evolution of productivity and mortality; dynamics and evolution of niches; specialization and generalization; evolutionary outcomes of predation and competition; evolution of biodiversity; evolutionary stable strategy; egoism and altruism; territoriality and colonialism; mating systems; optimal foraging strategy; anti-predation adaptations; fundamentals of sociobiology.
