The knows the general concepts, definitions and regulations in the field of construction law.
Knows the criteria for selection of a structural and non-structural elements as well as and thermo insulation in buildings constructed in the traditional technology and understands the role and tasks of the basic elements of the a building, including structural elements
Knows the general characteristics of finishing works (plastering, screeding, painting and lining).
Skills
Can design a building with the correct spatial and functional arrangements; correct construction system; correct selection of thermal, dampness and acoustic insulation.
Can made a critical analysis of the role and tasks of the structural and non-structural components of a building in terms of structural safety, fire safety and use.
Competences:
Is able to work independently on a specific task
It is aware of the need to raise professional and personal competences.

During the course students are introduced to general issues related to construction of buildings.
The standards and technical requirements. Basic knowledge of building construction. Typification and dimensional coordination in construction. Issues of building design and construction of different scales and purposes (function). Systems of building structures. Basis of traditional building construction. Field, spatial, functional and aesthetic requirements. Basis of materials science. Live loads. Structural elements of traditional buildings. Issues of building construction safety. Consideration of environment in designing and building construction practise.
