After course completion
In area of knowledge
1. Student knows the systematic and classification of poultry species, chicken origin, describes chickens morphology.
2. Student knows general roles of poultry production.
3. Student possesses the knowledge related to technology of poultry products production (hen eggs, chicken broiler meat).
In area of skills
1. Student correctly carries out the embryo development of chicken eggs.
2. Student correctly carries out the chicken broiler management and rearing.
3. Student takes care on proper poultry environment condition and bird welfare, operates the equipment serving for chick rearing.
Competences:
1. Student is responsible for proper treatment of poultry.
2. Student is responsible for correct broiler meat production and understands the necessity of providing of necessary environmental condition.
3. Student is aware of the necessity of continuous updating the knowledge related to poultry management and production.
Prerequisites:
-Course content:
Taxonomy of poultry species; origin of chickens; characteristics of poultry production; external morphology and performances of laying and meat type chicken lines; technologies and management of chicken; technology of egg incubation; chicken embryonic development; biological analysis of incubation; characteristics of birds’ digestive tract and basis of feeding the different technological groups of chicken; rearing, dissection and economic analysis of chicken broiler production.Recommended literature:

The course is ending by the obligatory written examine during session period. Only student who has completed the exercise and field lessons positively can proceed further to examine; exam lasts 100-120 minute and student should answer properly to 4-5 problematic questions (required minimum to pass exam positively (note 3) is 60%; note 5 (the highest) - 90-100% of correct answers; 4 - 70-80%. If the exam is failed in the first period, the student has the right to take it again in the second term. Student who obtained the note 5 as a credit for exercises and was present on most of the lectures can be dispensed from obligatory exam.Comment:
