In area of knowledge:
Student knows the systematic horses in the kingdom of mammals, has knowledge about the origin and domestication of horses, knows the morphology and anatomy of horses, can explain the digestive processes of horses fed differently, can describe the processes occurring in the reproductive systems of the stallion and the mare, knows the rules of evaluation and selection of various breeds and types of horses.
In area of skills: Student proper handling of the horse during manual, recognizes the zootechnical nomenclature of conformation and body parts of horses, recognizes the zootechnical nomenclature of horse coat, acquires the ability to make measurements of horses, acquires skills of keeping breeding documentary of horses, is able to assess and propose appropriate bonitation in Polish breeding documentation, can organize information on the use of horses of various breeds and types, can develop nutritional programs for horses of different breeds and types Competences:
Student understands the economic importance of horse farming and breeding, is able to personally handle the horses, as well as able to explain how to handle a horse, understands the responsibility of the breeder and keeper for horses welfare, understands the importance of environmental safety in the handling of the horse.Prerequisites:
-Course content:
Issues discussed during the course refer to the location of the species horse (Equus Caballus) in the taxonomy of living organisms,
particularly mammals, and the location of the horses in the group of livestock. The student learns the morphology and function
various systems and organs of horses. Meets the necessary elements of breeding work, ie measurements of horses, the determination of growth and development, evaluation of conformation, pedigree analysis, analysis of the results of various utility tests. Student learns principles of equine nutrition of different groups of horses.Recommended literature:

Verification of skills and competencies will be held during field trip (8 hours). The basis of classification is the presentation of the exploitation of horses, in accordance with the SAFETY regulations. Skills will be verified on the basis of five problem questions. Three of the question must be answer correctly. The duration of test is 45 minutes. Skills will be tested on the basis of the project, covering the creation of breeding lines of selected race. Skill and competence will be verified on the basis of the project of various nutritional options.
Attendance at school is obligatory, tolerated is only 1 unexcused absence. Absences (up to 3) are classified on the basis of a written development of missing classes. The basis for passing class is the average ratings.
The basis of assessment of the course is completion of exercises course. Knowledge will be verified on the basis of a written test, when student responds to the 70 test questions. The duration of the exam is 60 minutes. To obtain credit, the student need correctly answer at least 51 % of questions. If the test is not passed in the first term, the student has the right to submit oral or written form next time.Comment:
