Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student knows the methods of training horses for sport and racing ; has knowledge about the physiology efforts of horses from specific groups; has knowledge of playing equestrian competitions and horse racing; has knowledge of sport and race horses welfare. Skills: Student has the ability to handling of horses, in accordance with the principles of safety at work; can check the correctness of assumptions bridles, saddles, harness ; knows how to assess the performance of exercises; is able to assess the horses in the jump, on natural and artificial obstacles.

Competences: Student understands the importance of training for horses used in different ways; respects rank of HEALTH and SAFETY in the handling of the horse; accepts the responsibility of the user and trainer for the welfare of the horse.

Prerequisites: -

Course content: Metabolic profiles of horses for sport and race, methodological basis for training of sport horses, the specifics of training horses for racing, types of races, breeding – selection goals of racing performance tests.

Assessment methods: Skills and competencies will be verified during practical activities with the horses (a trip to the equestrian centre -2 h) as well as during the equestrian competitions. The basis of assessment is the correct evaluation of riders, faced with the scores by judges. Attendance at school is obligatory, tolerated is only 1 unexcused absence. Absences (up to 3) are classified on the basis of a written development of missing classes.The basis for passing class is the average ratings and a result of the test.The basis of assessment of the course is completion of exercises. Knowledge and competencies will be verified on the basis of a written test, when student responds to the 10 problematic questions. Test duration is 45 minutes. To obtain credit, the student need correctly answer at least 6 questions. If the test is not passed in the first term, the student can to submit oral or written form next time.
