Knowledge:
- knows the basic concepts and techniques of ecological research[BI_W01, BI_W02, BI_W03];
understands the rules regulating the functioning of ecological systems at different nature organization[BI_W03];
- is able to link environmental factors with their influence on the structure and functioning of organisms in the forming of ecological systems[BI_W03, BI_W05];
- understands the importance of the human activities impact on earth ecosystems[BI_W03].
Skills:
- analyses basic ecological definitions, structures and functioning of biological systems at the population, biocoenosis, ecosystem, landscape and biosphere level[BI_U05, BI_U06];
- is able to determine the relations between organisms and their environment[BI_U06, BI_U07];
- correctly interprets the ecological structure of selected animal populations[BI_U02, BI_U05, BI_U06].
Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors):
- understands the role of man in the process of environment development [BI_K04];
- is able to apply ecology laws in protecting the environment and nature[BI_K04];
- is able to work in a group [BI_K02].Competences:
The course provides sufficient skills to carry out studies in ecology and work in the area of broadly understood environment protection and nature conservancy in ecological services and state administration. Prerequisites:

The scope and methods of research in ecology. Limiting factors. Population, biocoenosis, ecosystem, landscape - the structure and
functioning. Succession. Biodiversity and the Biocenotic balance. Climates, soils and biomes of the Earth. Biogeography. Circulation of
the mattery and energy flow. Structure and productivity of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. Ecology and environmental and nature protection. Sustainable development.Recommended literature:
