During the course a theoretical knowledge and practical skills concerning chosen phenomena and physical and biophysical processes described by, among others, mechanics, acoustics, thermodynamics, optics and nuclear physics and also concerning the influences of various forces and radiation on living matter, biological membrane structures, heat and substance transport through these membranes arc gained. Also, student gains the knowledge of various methods that may be used to study biological objects (measurements of electric potentials in cells, spectroscopic techniques, NMR and so on)

Passing the course permits working in different fields, especially, in these connected with laboratory studies and in science

Course content:
Force fields, basic mechanics, waves and vibrations, basic thermodynamics, calorimetry, hydrodynamics, electric and magnetic properties of matter, electromagnetic and ionization radiation, classic and electronic microscopy, atomic and molecular spectroscopy, fundamental nuclear physics
