The objective of the course is to provide knowledge about the fundamental concepts and basic physicochemical principles that can be helpful for studying and understanding biological systems. The practicals included in the course are to acquaint the student with some experimental techniques and methods used in quantitative description of biophysical processes.Competences:

The laws of thermodynamics, entropy, chemical potential, thermochemistry, activity coefficients, Raoult’s law, osmotic pressure, the phase rule, electrolyte solutions, electrochemical cells, chemical kinetics. Recommended literature:
