The student has an elementary knowledge about space and elements associated with i, like points, lines, simple figures and planes;
The student knows the rules of projection elements of space in a drawing flat (on paper).
The student knows the specificity of the projects performance in AutoCAD software.
Skills
The student can use engineering techniques to create the mapping projects; is able to use the rules of marking projection to design earthworks elements;
The student shows a well-established spatial imagination;
The student is able to perform the technical documentation in digital version in a two-dimensional computer graphical environment AutoCAD.
Competences:
The student understands the need for mastering the skills of spatial imagination for solving engineering tasks;
The student demonstrates understanding of the need for computer support engineering design in the later years of study and in professional practice;
Student is aware of the work efficiency improvement in geodesy field through the use of computer software.

Course content:
During courses students will acquire knowledge and skills in the basics of engineering graphics, learning the rules for the implementation of engineering projects in analog as also in digital forms by means of application of computer tools.
Parallel rectangular projection on one or more viewports. Projection of points, lines and planes, connections between fundamental elements in space. Design elements of earthworks using marking projection. Monge’a projection. The rules for constructing of flat figures on projection.
Management of windows in AutoCAD (the user interface). Layers management of drawings (their creation, deletion, modification). Preparation of the working area (drawing borders, scale, grid, etc.). Learning about editing tools (erase, extend, cut , etc.), the coordinates (absolute coordinates, relative, polar), precise drawing tools (modes of the permanent and temporary location). Basic types of dimension (linear, serial, database). Dimensioning of circles, arcs, drawings. Raster map calibration. The processing of information contained at the analog map to digital version.
