Student learns about biology, ecology and behaviour of tetrapod animals most often exposed in zoological gardens; practical ability in animal breeding (practicals in zoological garden in Opole and Wroc³aw) and in re-introductions of endangered animals.Competences:
: Having completed this course will enable to work in zoological gardens, to organise and to manage breeding of some wild animals (camels, lamas, wild boards, elks, phasants gees, ducks, ostriches etc.) in agro-tourist farms; rehabilitating birds of prey and other animals.Prerequisites:
vertebrate zoologyCourse content:
the role of zoological gardens; law regarding zoological gardens; feeding and breeding zoo animals; exposition; reintroductions; biology and behaviour of main zoo species.
