Learning outcomes:
Knowledge
- knows the definition of genetic biodiversity and understand its relevance to the protection of species [BI2_W08_TP];
- defines the concepts relating to ex situ conservation, including basic indicators and parameters characterizing the captive breeding population [BI2_W08_TP];
- is able to make the characteristics of the elements that have a significant impact on the maintenance of ex situ populations and understands their importance from the species protection point of view [BI2_W08_TP].
Skills
- is able to characterize the ex situ population in terms of indicators of variability based on DNA and pedigrees [BI2-U05, BI2-U06, BI2_U07_TP, BI2_U08_TP];
- is able to analyze the population biodiversity indicators and on their basis to formulate proposals for measures to be taken in a given population [BI2-U05, BI2-U06, BI2_U07_TP, BI2_U08_TP].
