W1 –will acquire the theoretical knowledge of biology and systematics of fish as well as the knowledge of selected problems concerning the fish evolution and ecology[KB_W06, K_BW08, KB_W12];
W2 – describes the external and internal morphology of native species of freshwater fishes[KB_W06, KB_W08];
W3 – knows the methods of collecting, preservation and storing freshwater fishes[KB_W02];
W4 – known methods for determining the species composition of fish fauna and its density and biomass [KB_W15].
Skills
Student:
U1 – operates the light– and stereomicroscopes; safely deals with the preserved material [KB_U06, KB_U12];
U2 – can select the adequate study techniques (methods of collecting, preservation, storing, and identification) applied in relation to various species of freshwater fishes[KB_U12];
U3 –identifies the representatives of Polish species of freshwater fish [KB_U07, KB_U10].Competences:

Student:
K1 – understands the increasing complexity of animal architecture, being in concordance with the evolutionary process [KB_K01, KB_K04];
K2– is aware of the collective responsibility for fulfilling the tasks assigned to the team [KB_K02];

Bases of fish systematics; morphological, genetic, ecological and behavioral diagnostic features of fish; phylogenesis; taxonomic features and biology of Aghnata and freshwater fish of Poland; assemblages of fish; the classification of ways of reproduction; ecological production.Recommended literature:
