students after completing the course will have the ability to identify the breeds of dogs, cats and pigeons; ability to start of their own rearing and breeding of chosen amateur animal species and also rational feeding and their care. They will have the ability to assistance during the delivery and to take care of new born individuals. They will have knowledge about physiology of alimentary, respiratory, blood, reproductive system and also know general characteristic of chosen species of amateur animals. Competences:
Passing the course would permit working in animal shelters, zoological gardens, with breeders of pedigree and working dogs (police dogs and customs service dogs), it facilitates starting the own rearing and breeding of pedigree dogs and cats.
Prerequisites:
biology, anatomy and animal physiology. Course content:
Origin of dogs; senses of dogs and cats; anatomical and physiological systems; rational feeding of chosen amateur animals; parasitic, infectious and hereditary diseases; diseases and cure of aquarium fishes; rearing and breeding of amateur animals; help during the birth period and also care of offspring; breeds of dogs, cats and pigeons; ornamental and singing birds; ornamental and postal pigeons.
