After finishing the course student should know the rules of planning, organization and management cow herd on cattle farms; knows which methods use to qualify milk components and quality; be able to make use of the knowledge link with other subjects (architecture, mechanization, economics, prevention) which refer to milk production according to European stipulations.Competences:
Finishing this course will enable student to get a job on specialist farm - dairy cattle husbandry and also in laboratory of milk evaluation. Prerequisites:
General animal husbandry, Cattle breeding and husbandryCourse content:
Conditions of milk production in Poland and all over the world; trends in specialization of cattle breeding; breed selection, range and herd improvement trends; forage and production technology planning (herd organization, feeding, housing, care, reproduction, milking); modern building and technological solutions of inventory buildings for dairy cattle;, animals preparation for exhibitions and breeding demonstrations, outgoing practical trainings; course in a range of milk composition and quality assessment completed with a certificate.Recommended literature:
