Learning outcomes: After course completion In area of knowledge 1. Students indicates the key elements of new-born care. 2. Students defines mechanisms of the innate immunity and specific, role in the formation of immune colostrum in the newborn. 3. Students knows the rules neonatal care after cesarean section. Indicates a threat during rearing newborns without a mother. In area of skills 1. Student assesses the health status of newborns. 2. Student applies the principles of care on the neonatal after delivery physiological and after caesarean section. 3. Students can estimate transfer passive immunity of neonatal.

Competences: 1. Students shows the need for raising professional qualifications and the need learning for lifelong. 2. Students willingly and easily work in a group, which can take a variety of functions. 3. Students can be responsible for the safety and protection of animals in the neonatal period.

Prerequisites: -

Course content: Meaning neonatal period. The development of the most important organs in the prenatal period in livestock and accompanying. Influence of health of mother on the course of delivery. Physiological delivery and assessment methods of delivery. Hypoxia. Features of the development of the digestive system in preterm infants. Weak baby syndrome. Threats neonatal period, non-communicable diseases and infectious diseases. Evaluate the health of newborn animals. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies in newborns. Neonatal resuscitation. Help Perinatal during delivery livestock and accompanying animals. Babysitting infant after physiological delivery and after caesarean section.

Assessment methods: Final test based on material from the lectures and exercises. To pass, students receive lectures earlier set of 30 issues. Test instructor giving credits lectures written pledge 20 specific questions. Bearish> 75% correct answers. If the test is not counted in the first term the student is entitled to re-sit it orally or in writing within a bugfix termin.
