After completing the course student will be able to have an overview of the body of information of Phytogeography and Zoogeography under Area, Zonation and Biogeographic Regions, Faunal Systems, Centers of animal Distribution for discussed examples, and fundamentals of Island.Competences:
Students will be recognizable with the theory of distributional under Distributional Aspects of Area and Species Numbers Relationships, Migration and Extinction, and to exhibit a gift to synthesize these principles.Prerequisites:
Systematic botany, General ecology, Plant Morphology, Palaeontology, Invertebrates Zoology, Vertebrates Zoology.Course content:
History of Biogeography, distribution of species, dispersal and immigration, speciation and extinction, geography of diversification, glaciations and biogeographic dynamics in Pleistocene, fundamental biogeographic processes, island biogeography.Recommended literature:
