The students shall be acquainted with the types and scope of intellectual protection in Poland and with international conventions ratified by Poland. They shall receive knowledge of forms and procedures of intellectual and industrial protection.Competences:
Having finished the course, the student should have theoretical knowledge of basic acts related to intellectual property law. They shall know and distinguish subjects of industrial property laws. The student shall also be able to determine the purposes of protection and commercialization of intellectual property. In addition student can use intellectual outputs without violating copyrights.

Basis of intellectual property law. Industrial Property Law. Act on Copyright and related rights. Act on suppression of unfair competition. Subjects of industrial property law. Patent Office proceedings. Patent qualification of biotechnological achievements. Practical aspects of protection of intellectual and industrial property in the field of biotechnology. Biotechnological inventions in international conventions and UE regulations.
