Students know mechanism and kinetics of enzyme activity, enzymes preparation production and purification with selective precipitation, gel filtration, specific adsorption, ion exchange, affinity chromatography. Competences:
Students are able to measure kinetics of enzymes action, know how to isolate enzymes from biological materials and are capable to produce technical and pure enzyme preparations. Prerequisites:
Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, MicrobiologyCourse content:
Mechanism and kinetics of enzyme action; catalytic and physicochemical properties, principle of enzyme isolation from animal, plant and microorganism sources (enzymes extraction, fractional precipitation, gel filtration, specific adsorption, ion exchange and affinity chromatography) and production of technical and pure enzyme preparations.
