Prof. dr hab. Zofia SpiakLanguage of instruction:
Polish / EnglishLearning outcomes:
Student possesses theoretical knowledge of behavior and circulations of elements in the environment and elements migration in system: soil - plant - water - air. He is also able to estimate soil, water and plant ąuality from the point of view of environmental pollution as well as he can define the source of pollution (fertilisation, waste, fertilizer industry). He is familiar with conseąuences of pollution, methods of prevention of contamination and its elimination from the environment.Competences:
The positive passing of this course will enable students to independently estimate environmental pollution in different ecosystems as well as to make chemical analyses in environmental chemistry labs. It also allows to undertake decisions regarding limitation and clearing of environment pollution.Prerequisites:
Chemistry, Biochemistry, Soil science, Plant physiologyCourse content:
Elements circulations in the naturę, sources of leaking and volatilisation of elements, food production, bases of plant yielding, fertilisation - its importance and influence on
environment, waters eutrophication, greenhouse gases production, soils acidification and sulphurisation, heavy metals in the agricultural ecosystems, vulnerability, sensitivity and tolerance by plants and animals, methods of pollution survey, estimation of toxicity, methods of countermeasures.
