The course gives the practical contact in the field with selected problems and solutions described theoretically within various courses at first level of environmental studies
Competences:
Students will have the well established understanding of natural environment functioning and knowledge on practical methods of environmental protection Prerequisites:
Geology, Ecology, Natural resources, Water management, Soil protection, Degraded land reclamation, Waste management, Nature conservationCourse content:
The course is organized in the form of few-day-long field excursion to the degraded and reclaimed areas, including coal mining region, copper industry region, open-cast mining of rock resources, as well as the objects of water and waste-water management, modern waste landfills with communal waste sorting-plant, large industrial plant equipped with atmosphere protection facilities. Excursion involves visiting of one area of nature conservation (national or landscape park) and gene bank, arboretum or forest nursery. Recommended literature:
