The student gains knowledge of the processes occurring in small (household) wastewater treatment plants. The student knows how to design equipments for the purification of small quantities of wastewater. The student can predict the effects of entering polluted water to the receiver. Competences:
Student after completing the course can work in the Municipal Water and Sewage Works, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Municipal Offices, Environmental Inspectorates. Prerequisites:
Technologies of water and wastewater management. (engineering course)Course content:
Characteristic of domestic sewage, requirements of purified wastewater. Highly efficient methods of removing biogenic compounds from wastewater. Wastewater treatment in quasi-natural environment. Removal of microbiological contaminates in the wastewater treatment processes. The impact of contaminated water on the receiver. Recommended literature:
