Learning outcomes: Student has the theoretical and practical knowledge on designing and water management in aquacultures
Competences: Course finishing will give ability to proper water resources management and natural environment development
Prerequisites: Hydrology, Meteorology and climatology
Course content: Ponds location, water inlets, the total water demands, water management systems, available discharges and water balances. Hydrological and hydraulic bases of pond’s projects will be presented as well principles of water facilities and communication structures designing (dams, weirs, U-bends, aqueducts, roads and others). There also will be given fishpond earth structures and fishing facilities dimensioning (outlet and inlets, aerators). There will be introduced: legislative and organisational aspects of the special water use, aquacultures appraisal methodology and the fishpond impact assessment on water management in the catchment scale, regarding non-productive role in waters storage and environmental development.
