The course is giving students theoretical knowledge of the characteristics of mining areas and introducing to complicated problems of environmental protection on these areas related to the kind of exploited resource and the method of exploitation and practical knowledge about reclamation of degraded areas.Competences:
Students will have the knowledge about the most important negative phenomenon occurring on the mining areas (noise, dusting, salt waters etc.). During the field practical students will acquaint with the methods of dump formation, the methods of reclamation and final use of dumps formatted from wastes of coal mining.Prerequisites:
Geology, natural resources and their protection, reclamation of degraded landsCourse content:
History of mining, legislation of exploited resource in polish law, characteristics of mining areas and introducing to complicated problems of environmental protection on these areas related to the kind of exploited resource and the method of exploitation. The most important negative phenomenon occurring on the mining areas (noise, dusting, salt waters etc.).Recommended literature:
