During the course student gets a theoretical knowledge and practical skills permitting to prepare prophylaxis programs and to treatment fur-coverd animals (breeding and husbandry).
At the end of the course the student will gain knowledge of breeding fur-covered animals; will be able to do clinical and anatomopathological examination and take material for laboratory testing; will know rules of therapy and be able to use them in individual cases.
Competences:
Passing the course permits working with fur-covered animals on farms or in animals’ hospitals.Prerequisites:
Veterinary Diagnostic Techniques, Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Virusology, PharmacologyCourse content:
Biology and breeding of fur-covered animals (foxes, minks, ferrets, rabbits, chinchillas). Diseases of fur-covered animals, rules of therapy, prophylaxis programs’ for each species, techniques of clinical examination, taking samples for laboratory testing and administering drugs. Specifics of antibiotic therapy in herbivorous fur-covered animals.Recommended literature:
