Learning outcomes: Students understand basic principles of food safety policy, know types of legislation documents, know basic documents of general food law in European Union and in Poland, know legislation basic of internal and external food safety control systems.

Competences: Students are able to present basic issues and principles of food safety policy, are able to find legislation documents connected with a given subject, can interpret general food low, can define on the base of food legislation a needs related to food and fed.

Prerequisites:

Course content: Principles of food safety policy. Basic principles and history of food law. Codex Alimentarius. Food law in EU and in Poland. Framework Regulation (EC) 178/2002, hygienic regulations package, other chosen union regulations. Polish food legislation. Basic issues and principles, structure and competences of official control bodies.
