Learning outcomes: The student after completion of the course should know the general basis for the design of spatial composition, shaping of the land development elements, and also have a general knowledge of legislation for the protection and landscaping, he should be able to analyze and to valorize the landscape, practically apply the principles of technical drawing.

Competences: knowledge of the general basis for the design of spatial composition, shaping of the land development elements, general knowledge of legislation for the protection and landscaping, ability to analyze and to valorize the landscape.

Prerequisites: Preceding subjects: Landscape design principles, part I

Course content: Basis of the ecological worldview. Bases of composition: analysis and assessment of examples. Comparative studies. Adaptation of garden and landscape setups for the needs of today. Landscape and spatial planning system. Basic documents and legal acts defining the ways and means of landscaping. Analysis of example of assessment of the investments impact on the landscape. Legal aspects of of the landscape protection. Basis for the protection of the natural and cultural environment in light of applicable laws. Ways to develop of planning documentation. Planning recording. Basics of landscape architecture objects design consequential to studies and spatial development plans. Query. Inventory. Diagnosis. The scope of the development of design documentation. Analysis of examples. Contemporary theories of space shaping. Sustainable development in landscape architecture. Principles of drawing up of construction projects. Formal requirements for construction projects. Implementing projects. Developing of indications for the projects of technical infrastructure. Valuation principles of design work. Preparation of Bill of quantities and cost estimates. Formulates of cost calculations of work and and cost estimates. Studies and analysis of the landscape. Architectural and landscape units. Valorisation. Methods of evaluation, description. Example analysis. Planning program. Defining the users needs. Norms and recommendations concerning the design of green spaces and associated facilities. The laws, regulations and standards for the design of the different categories of landscape architecture objects. The principles of programming and design of the landscape architecture objects.
