The aim of the course is acquainting students with species, biology and natural environment of utilitarian insects as well as their economic using in Poland (honeybee, solitary bees - Andrenidae, Colletdae, Helictidae, Megachilidae, Anthophoridae), bumblebee and silkwormCompetences:
After being credited with the subject course, the student has at its disposal the knowledge of the scope of the bee anatomy and morphology from the point of view of the work scope carried out by the bee, recognition of major Apidea family insect species from the viewpoint of the economy, social organization, occurrence areas, nesting ways, possible purposeful use as well as with the evaluation ways for the environmental resources and protection of the Apidae family species endangered with extinction. The student should also possess the knowledge on the biology and raising methods for the silkworm.Prerequisites:

Course contents: biology of bees and silkworm, phenomena occurring in the world of bees, relations between bees, role of bees in the environment and their influence on live plants and crops plants; methods of breeding and identification of bees; evolution live of bees, methods of breeding silkworm, feed of bees and silkwormRecommended literature:
