Completion of the course will provide the student with the theoretical knowledge of fungi biology and ecology, about life and dieases cycle, effect of fungi on quality of fodder.Competences:
After this unit students should be able to answer the following questions: how to recognize and control the most important plant disease in different crops? Why are plant diseases so much important on animal’s healthiness? How to increase plant diseases in crops?

What is plant disease? The definition of plant disease. The role of plant diseases in agriculture, horticulture, forestry and protection of biodiversity. The abiotic factors causing plant diseases. The stages of plant infecting by biotic factors (fungi). The effect of environment on infection process. Factors affecting infection. The main biotic factors causing plant diseases. Control methods of plant disease: regulatory control, cultural control, biological control, physical control.Recommended literature:
