Learning outcomes: : Student gets and widens the knowledge in the field of ruminants biology, wild and domestic ones; acquires the detailed knowledge concerning the physiology of parturition and lactation of ruminants, specificity of digestion and possibilities of feed utilization by that group of animals, and the significance of products of ruminants origin, also in the aspect of functional food production.
Competences: Completion of the course will allow to widen the knowledge in the field of biology of ruminants used by human, their significance and utilization of products obtained from them, that may allow to undertake a job in breeding and scientific units dealing with their husbandry.
Prerequisites: Zoology, biochemistry, physiology, genetics, laboratory analytics;
Course content: Role and economic significance of ruminants. Specificity of digestion and feeding of ruminants. Reproduction and physiology of lactation. Utilization features of ruminants. Products obtained from ruminants.
