Student gets the knowledge of the possibility of restoring the living terms; the biological conditions of the population based on historical studies on human bones.Competences:
Substantive and technical preparation to cooperate with archeologists (i.e. in excavations).
Prerequisites:
Functional anatomy of human, Physical anthropology. Course content:
Methods for evaluation of sex and individual age; the possibility of estimating individual life appearance. Determinants of physiological stress: cribra orbitalia, Harri’s lines, osteoporosis, hypoplasia., tooth decay, enamel hipoplazja, tootha disease. DNA testing in the material marrow: PCR method. Trace elements in bones and their importance in studies of paleopopulation. Cremation graves research. Paleopathology. Methods of test excavation, exploration, and tracking objects, hedging techniques anthropological and archaeological objects, methods of developing the material.Recommended literature:
