Students will have an extended knowledge on conservation problems related to Polish insects, with their biology and identification data and various methods their protection.Competences:
Passing the course permits students to put the possessed information about biology and development of terrestrial winged insects (mostly endangered and protected species) into the practice, i.e. in various works related to valorization of valuable natural area in Poland and to monitoring of protected area (i.e. nature reserve and National Parks).Prerequisites:
General Ecology, Nature Conservation, Paleontology, Invertebrate Zoology.Course content:
Biology, distribution and morphological characteristics of selected insect taxa, including protected species and species facing a risk of extinction. Basic methods and paths to protect winged insects, as the dominant group in nature. Recommended literature:
